Project Description

The expansion of SR 29 from Oil Well Road to SR 82 is identified within the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and is consistent with Collier County's adopted Growth Management Plan. Evaluating the expansion of the roadway was necessary due to the ongoing population and employment growth in and around the study area. The provision of safe and efficient transportation to support this growth requires action to improve the existing transportation network.

The objective of the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study was to provide documented information necessary for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to reach a decision on the type, design, and location of improvements to SR 29 for acceptance by the FDOT Office of Environmental Management (OEM).

The SR 29 Immokalee PD&E Study received approval from the FDOT OEM on June 19, 2024. The final notifications and documents are available here.
